What's happening with Library North on the 3rd and 4th floors?

I used to study on the north side of the library. Where can I go instead? What's going on with those spaces?

Answer

The 3rd and 4th floors of the Library North building (the original Library building) are going through some space transformation during the Fall 2018 semester. As the Small College Complex goes offline in Spring 2019 to make way for the new Instruction & Innovation Building, there will be a number of academic and student support programs that will need to move to new homes around campus. One of those places will be the 3rd and 4th floors of the Library North building.

We don't yet know which specific groups will be joining us in the Library, but you may see cubicle construction and other changes taking place on the 3rd and 4th floors of Library North during the Fall 2018 semester.

If you are looking for silent study space, please make use of the 4th Floor Library South spaces. As in prior semesters, the 3rd Floor Library South remains at the "quiet" noise level, for respectful group study in open spaces as well as individual study with the understanding that there is conversation allowed in this area.
