Q. Does the library have my textbook?

The Library does not collect every textbook for every class, but we do have many. There are several ways you can find textbooks from the library.

  1. One option is Course Reserves, this is a collection of textbooks and other materials that your professor has loaned to the library. To search Course Reserves - use OneSearch on the library's homepage and select "Course Reserves (CSUDH)" from the dropdown menu.

You can search by course number (i.e.: PSY 235), book title, or instructor's name and narrow your results using the checkboxes on the left side of the results page. When you find your textbook, be sure to write down the call number so that you can pick up the item at the Reserves desk.

Your check-out period is limited to two hours, two days, or four days, depending on the professor and the item. You can pick up these items at the Reserves desk, which is located on the north side of the 2nd floor of the library. You can also call 310-243-3717.

2.The library also has a large collection of e-books, some of which are used by faculty members to teach classes. Check our list of free e-Textbooks or find them in OneSearch.
