How do I find and access e-books (online books)?

either by specific title or by subject?

Answer

The library has many eBooks that can be viewed anytime and from any location with an internet connection, or downloaded for later offline reading. You must be a currently enrolled student, faculty of staff member and you will be asked to log in with your campus-wide username and password.

You can search eBooks using the libraries main search box (OneSearch) on the library website.

Once you find a book in OneSearch, click on its provider for full-text access. Note that some books can only be used by one person at a time. This example allows multiple people to access an ebook at once.

Once you open up the book you will see all of your options which can include some or all of the options below:

  • Reading the book on your computer screen by flipping through the pages or navigating the table of contents
  • The ability to download or print individual chapters (usually with a specific page amount)
  • The ability to download the book as an epub or pdf file to read offline

In the example below we can read the book online or download individual chapters, however, we can't download the entire book for offline reading.
