I'm a CAMS high school student. How do I borrow books?

I go to CAMS and want to use the library's books.

Answer

Prior to checking out materials, students from the California Academy of Mathematics and Science (CAMS) must submit a CAMS library user application that has been signed by a parent or guardian. Submit complete forms at the Course Reserves Desk, which is located to the left of the entrance on the library’s main floor. CAMS students can check out up to 5 books with a valid CAMS student ID card.

Unless they are enrolled in a CSUDH course, CAMS students do not have access to course reserves materials, the library’s interlibrary loan service, or computers in the Library's labs. CAMS students also do not have remote access to library databases. Databases can be accessed using one of the several stand-up kiosks located around the building or via our guest wifi using a personal device or laptop.

Minors under the age of 15 should be accompanied at all times by an adult caregiver.

CAMS teachers and staff members do not have borrowing privileges. However, like any member of the community, CAMS teachers and staff can purchase a one-year Library Associate Card for $35. Additional information about book loan policies can be found on the Borrowing Policies page.
