How can I create permanent links, or permalinks, to library resources?
What if there's no permalink button? How do I create a permanent link to JSTOR .pdf articles?
Answer
For OneSearch (CSUDH Library Catalog):
When searching OneSearch, there are two ways of getting to the permanent link for any library record. in the search results, click on the three dots to expand the quick access menu. From there, click on the permalink to copy & paste the permalink.
In a record, click on the Permalink icon at the top.
For items from CSUDH Library Databases:
You can make most of our online library resource available for easy off-campus access. You simply need to add our library proxy information to create a stable, permanent URL link to the resource. This allows library databases and vendors know that you are affiliated with CSUDH and have access to those resources.
The permalink will prompt you to log in through the MyCSUDH portal first to verify you are an authorized user.
The library proxy is: http://libproxy.csudh.edu/login?url=
Some databases will generate a permalink for you. Just look for a link or permalink icon:
Or, add the proxy prefix to any link to manually create a permanent URL:
http://libproxy.csudh.edu/login?url=http://jstor.org/stable/25634850
