Q. If you are a vision-impaired user, how can you read a ProQuest Ebook Central ebook?

If you are a vision-impaired user, how can you read a ProQuest Ebook Central ebook?

(this is a temporary solution):

Step 1: Activate a screen reader,

Step 2: Follow the directions to search and find the ebook, and open it.

Step 3: Download the ebook or the chapters of the ebook.

Step 4: Now, you have the options to use any screen reader that can read PDF to read the ebook (if the screen reader program can read PDF file.

If you want to listen to the ebook on your Mobile devise or your computer, you can up-load the down-loaded PDF ebook to a program called SensusAccess at this URL:  http://www.sensusaccess.com/convert-a-file

The program can convert the entire PDF ebook or the chapters of the ebook into a MP3 speech file, and email you the file.  You can, then, listen to it on your mobile phone or your computer.

This method works for any users on and off campus.
