How do I log in to library resources from off campus?

I want to read an article or ebook from a library database, but I can't log in.

Answer

If you're following a permalink from your professor in Blackboard, a library database link, or a full text link in OneSearch, you will be prompted to log in to the CSUDH Authentication Service:

CSUDH Authentication Service page.

Log in using your CSUDH username and password. This is the same username and password you use for Blackboard and MyCSUDH.

What if it doesn't prompt me to log in?

Sign in to your library account to make sure you're connected from the My Library Account link, or by using the Sign In option in OneSearch  Use your CSUDH username and password when prompted.

What if the authentication service doesn't accept my username or password?

1. Check that you are entering your CSUDH username and password correctly. You do not need your student ID number, social security number, or @toromail.csudh.edu after your username.

2. Reset your password online at password.csudh.edu. If you have questions about finding your username or resetting your password, please contact the IT Help Desk or call (310) 243-2500

3. Try clearing your browser cookies and cache

Are you a first time user?

CSUDH students are automatically registered with a library account. However, sometimes new students and faculty do not get entered into the system automatically. Call (310) 243-3712 or visit the Book Pickup & Checkout Desk to check that you have a profile in our system. If you're in the College of Extended and International Education, call (310) 243-3741 or visit the CEIE Registration Office in Extended Education 1100 with photo ID.

Who can use CSUDH Library resources off campus?

You must be a currently enrolled CSUDH student, faculty, or staff member. Part-time instructional faculty only have access during semesters in which they are teaching. Sorry, we cannot offer off-campus access to alumni.
